Its appearance may resemble glass, but it in fact is made of unbreakable resin material “Tritan”, a reassuring item that gives a luxurious and robust feeling.

見た目はまるでガラスそのもの。でも実は「トライタン」という樹脂でできているグラスで、日常で使いやすいポイントがたくさんあります。まず割れないことが挙げられます。床にグラスを落としたり、食器をぶつけてしまったり、「あっ」という瞬間があっても割れることがないので安心して使えます。
容量は375mlと、日常使いのサイズ。缶ビールが1本入るくらいの大きさです。同じくらいの容量のタンブラーM（ガラス）と比べると、重さは1/3程度の150g。なのでお子さまやお年寄りでも扱いやすいです。
 
 
It looks like glass, but in fact is made of a resin material “Tritan”, which has a lot of potential for daily use. First of all, the fact that it's unbreakable allows users to feel safe even when the tumbler is accidentally dropped or hit. It can hold up to 375ml, making it suitable for a casual daily use, even allowing a whole can of beer to be poured in. Compared to our tumbler M with the similar capacity, it weighs about a third of 150g. Therefore children and elders can also easily enjoy their drink.

ハイボールはソーダとウィスキーを3:1で割るのがおいしいと言われており、氷を入れて、くびれの部分までウィスキーを注ぎ、それからソーダを入れるとちょうどそのくらいになります。 わざわざ計量しなくても簡単においしいハイボールが作れます。他のお酒を割るときも、くびれの部分を加減の目安にすると便利です。
カフェオレやカルピスを作る際にも便利です。パフェやクリームソーダにもチャレンジしてみてください。
 
 
It is said that a highball tastes best with a 3:1 ratio of soda to whiskey. Our colour tumbler has a “neck” that allows that perfect ratio to be made easily, by simply pouring whiskey up to the neck then adding some soda, you can easily make a good whiskey soda. The neck can be used as a measure for other liquor, Lattes or other soft drinks too.

このグラスが特に活躍するのは、庭や屋外のパーティーや、アウトドアレジャーです。人がたくさんいて動き回るところではガラスにヒヤリとさせられるシーンもあり、割れないグラスなら不安になることもありません。 アウトドアマグや子ども用の樹脂コップの多くは着色していますが、カラータンブラーMは透明なので、中身が見えるのがいいところです。
しかも100度までの耐熱で温かい飲み物にも使えます。たとえばキャンプをしていて、朝は温かいコーヒー、昼間はビール、夜は氷を入れたハイボールといった使い方がこれひとつでできます。
アツアツとキンキンの両方をカバーするのは、普通のガラスにはできないこと。この安全面と利便性の高さは、アウトドアシーンで大活躍してくれること間違いなしです。
 
 
This glass becomes especially useful for outdoor leisure and parties. Using fragile glass can be a bit worrying when there are a lot of people moving about, so our unbreakable glass can become handy for such situations. Majority of outdoor resin cups tend to be non-transparent, but since our colour tumbler is see-through, users can easily distinguish the content, adding another pro factor. Moreover, the glass is heat proof up to 100℃ making it suitable for hot drinks too. This becomes handy in a situation like camping, where the amount of luggage you can take is limited, as this glass can for example be used for hot coffee in the morning, cold beer for lunch, and chilled whiskey soda with ice. Being able to withstand both low and high temperature is not something ordinary glass is capable of.

Plakira ／ 石川樹脂工業

カラータンブラーを生み出しているのは、石川県の石川樹脂工業です。1947年に山中漆器の木地師としてスタートしましたが、ほどなくして樹脂を用いた外食産業向けのテーブルウエアの製造・販売へと転身し、近年はカラフルで透明度の高い樹脂素材のテーブルウェアブランド「Plakira」（プラキラ）が人気を博しています。
双円のカラータンブラーはこのプラキラの製造技術を用いています。接合面を職人がひとつひとつ研磨をしてなめらかな質感を出し、ガラスに近い見た目を生み出しているのです。 特に口元には細心の注意を払っています。唇は感度が高いのでザラついているとすぐにわかるので、バーナーで処理してなめらかさを出しています。

In order to create our Colour tumbler, we have teamed up with Ishikawa Jyushi Kogyo (石川樹脂工）, which started its industry off with wood crafts for Yamanaka lacquerware. The company soon shifted to manufacturing and selling tableware made of resin for the food service industry. In recent years its resin tableware brand “Plakira” has gained popularity due to its colourful, transparent finish that drew attention. Soen has put this technology from Plakira into practice, craftsmen carefully polishing the joint surface one by one to create a smooth, glass like texture. Especially at the mouth of the cup, where the texture can easily be distinguished when used, is treated with a burner to create a smooth touch. As our colour tumblers are created with such care, they are not only beautiful but also durable. The manufacturers’ confidence is shown with a “lifetime non shatter insurance” which is included with the product.
